The Abutilon persicum is also known as Persian mallow. It is a large, erect flowering shrub which can grow up to a maximum height of 1 to 2 metres. The plant is widely grown because of its attractive and fragrant flowers.
The other names of these flowers are Redvein abutilon, Redvein Chinese lanterns, Redvein Indian mellow, Chinese Lantern, Redvein flowering maple etc. the scientific names of these plants is Abutilon pictum. It belongs to the family of Malvaceae. The flowers usually attract hummingbirds and bees which help in pollination. It is a native plant from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Paraguay.
