Saussurea obvallata is also known as Brahma Kamal in India. The plant has Indian mythology associated with it. The plant is actually a type of cactus but appears to be a plant of lotus family.

The thick stem is fully covered by the leaves of the plant. It is a type of cactus with a limited height that would never grow tall. It is a night flowering cactus. It is rarely grown indoors and are found in Himalayas and Uttarakhand

It is believed that making a wish on the blooming night of the plant makes it come true.

Basic Care
