New Guinea impatiens (Impatiens Hawkeri) also known as Hawker, is a perennial plant. Impatiens are also known as busy Lizzie. The plant has shiny glossy foliage.

If you are planting it indoors then use a big pot to provide better circulation and gradually it will be easier to provide a considerable amount of water.

If you are planting it inside a container then you can use a container mix soil. Peat- based soil works best for them.
A well-draining soil with humus texture will also stimulate the growth of the impatiens. Do not let the soil dry out completely it will cause the yellowing of the leaves.
The plant enjoys morning sun and afternoon shade. They do well in indirect sunlight.
Make sure you place the plant under a partial shade location.

Slow release fertilizers can be used for the impatiens.
They prefer steady supply of fertilizers like in stages so that they can absorb the nutrients at its best. Fertilize the plant once in a month.
If you can provide water-soluble fertilizers then it would be an icing on the cake. You can use potash or tomato fertilizers as a substitute.
