Sedeveria green rose is a succulent which is densely filled with symmetrical green color petals.They belong to the family of Crassulaceae. The plant is a hybrid plant. They are the outcome from the cross of Sedum pachyphyllum and Echeveria.
Green Rose is a low maintenance plant. They have fewer requirements of resources during the growth. Regular watering and fertilizers are necessary during the blooming season.
Green rose can strive under any climatic conditions.
You may find flowers in yellowish green color. They bloom during the month of summers, starting from March to June. It is the foliage of the plant which is in the form of symmetrical rosettes which make them look like green color rose flowers.
The plant grows up to the height of 1 foot.
Use soil which contains cactus and succulent mix. You can add some perlite to the soil to provide additional drainage in the soil. Penetrate the soil completely around the plant to promote the growth via the roots.
Make sure you know the growth cycle of green rose before feeding, cause succulents go through different dormant periods. So it is better to know when to feed them and when their needs are fulfilled.
Slow releasing fertilizers can be used. It is suggested to use organic fertilizers instead of synthetic fertilizers. Compost, slurry, and guano can be used for this succulent. Feed the plant 3 times a week during the growing season.
If the location where you have kept your succulents receives scorching heat then try and place it under partial shade. 4 to 6 hours direct morning sunlight could be provided to the plant.
During the winters, when the sun is not that intense keep the green rose towards the west-facing window where they would get that afternoon sun which would help them bloom.
It is a drought tolerant plant so water the green rose sparingly.
Water the plant daily with 2 to 3 cups if the location is humid and dry. Don't water the plant constantly as the branches could start to incline towards the roots making the plant dull.
In case you are planting it indoors, then water the plant weekly.
Cut the amount of watering to the plant when are dormant.
Many leaf-chewing insects affect the green rose; they defoliate the foliage. Some insects that may affect your green rose are leaf beetles and aphids.
Small wasps and flies may feed on the inner surface of the plant. Green rose can also get affected with fungal diseases. They infect the plant and cause leaf spots and blotches. You can get rid of them by spraying essential pesticides for 3 times in a week.
The rose is squished and cleaned to make Rosehip syrup. They are also used while making herbal tea.
It is also believed that the plant can be used in treating stomach ulcers. Apart from this, the plant is widely used for decorating houses. This plant has a beautiful aroma, making it an excellent plant for indoor landscaping.
