This is an evergreen plant and the best plant to keep in your house or office if you are a lazy waterer.

The plant will still look fresh with its long green glorious leaves even if you neglect it for weeks.

The general height of the plant can range from 8 inches to 12 feet high.

Do not water the plant too often as it would be killing it with kindness. The plant has low water needs.

During winters they need watering only for once or twice a month and during summers the water amount should increase like from 1/4 cup of water between two to three weeks.

Remember that you don't pour water directly on the leaves of the plant and rather on the base of the plant.

It is essential to have fertilized and free draining soil for this plant.

If you are planning to re-pot the plant make sure to add cactus and succulent potting soil

Also, you can add some organic compost like worm compost to enrich the plant. Avoid waterlogging the soil as this will rot the plant.

The plant needs a moderate amount of sunlight. The plant adjusts itself with the lighting.

Basically, this is a magic plant. It would be absolutely fine if you give ample sunlight or less amount of sunlight to it. They are low light tolerant.

During the summers make sure you provide direct sunlight to it. The more sunlight it gets the faster it would grow

It would be a perfect plant to grow in any geographic location-no matter whether you live in Rajasthan or in Kerela

The plant usually doesn't bear flowers. They bloom very rarely like once in a blue moon and if they do then it would definitely not harm your plant.

In case they bear any flowers then it would resemble a lot like lilies. Sometimes orange berries are followed by the white flowers.

The average height of the plant can be up to 70cm.

The leaves of this plant are long and sword-shaped which are edged in yellow color.

With the perspective of the width, the plant can grow from 6 inches to 3 feet wide

Don't over fertilize this plant as it has very fewer needs. If your plant is rotting then it can be due to overwatering. At that time you can use coarse or perlite soil.

Remember to have some drainage holes in the pot of this plant as it would provide space for the soil to dry out if it is waterlogged.

Use soluble fertilizers like cactus mix and well-drained potting mix with nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous.

There are more than 60 species of Mother In law's tongue. Of all these species the plant which is probably grown in indoors is Sansevieria trifasciata laurentii.

There's type of snake plant called Sansevieria cylindrica with leaves in the cylinder shaped. The growth of the roots is very similar to that of leaves. The roots spread sideways inside the pot.

Thus the best option for the Sansevieria cylindrica is to have a boat-shaped pot such that it doesn't break the pot during the growth of the roots.

The plants are natural air purifiers. They absorb plenty of nitrogen oxides and other toxins from the air and thus help in improving the quality of air.

The plant is more prone to bugs and spiders. The plant can also get infested with mealybugs.

You can control this by using appropriate bugs controllers and fertilizers and the most important thing is to stop overwatering the plant.
